They spared no expense with the clubhouse and restaurant. There is even a radio station inside the clubhouse.
Thanksgiving Point is a Johnny Miller signature course right in Lehi, Utah. Their pro-shop is well stocked, but quite pricey. Make sure to bring what you need like extra balls, tees, gloves, etc. so you don’t get stuck.

After you finish in the pro-shop you can get a bucket of balls and head out to the driving range. The range at Thanksgiving Point is well laid out to have amazing mountain views. The grass is well maintained with club cleaners right near by to make it very easy to take care of your clubs.
Once at the first tee things start to click, that this isn’t going to be easy. We rate courses from the “Blue Tees or “Standard Tees, and Thanksgiving Point has two sets of tee boxes behind their blue tees. They have Gold and Black. The black tees are over 7,700 yards, making it longer than “Jack’s Black at Los Serranos Country Club the longest course in California.

This course is quite difficult with it’s narrow fairways, huge and well placed hazards. The sharp “dog-legs make it tuff unless to can play a draw, or fade golf shot. The fact that it’s hard to judge distances since they don’t provide a GPS or course map/guide makes it very tuff too. They have sprinklers marked with the middle of the greens, but it seems that there are not enough of them.
Thanksgiving Point offers a course map for a charge, but we really think they should provide it for free upon request. That way they impress their customers and provide help for them along the way.

The overall conditions were fantastic, the tee boxes were well kept, fairways nearly perfect, and the greens were also in near perfect condition. The 3rd hole has to have on of the biggest sand trap that we have ever encountered.
But they do have a few things we were disappointed in, like small sprinklers right in the greens so watch out when putting, and quality of their sand. The bunkers or “Beaches were filled with very course hard sand with fairly big pebbles in it. It almost seemed like local sand they reused, the sand traps chew up your clubs. So you must remember to play your shot like a chip rather than a regular open faced “sand duff shot.

This course is one of the more famous public golf courses in the Salt Lake City area, and it plays up to it’s expectations. When visiting this area make sure to include Thanksgiving Point in your trip !
It's a great example of target golf, and can be very challenging; this course has been very well designed.
