Skeleton of a Cactus

Cactus Skeleton at Eagle Mountain

Playing golf is a ruff life

Traveling and playing golf in many different states brings a variety of landscapes, from desert to shore cliffs, forests and mountains.

I have had the experience of seeing wonderful wildlife and plant life at golf courses all over the US and beyond. ;)

When playing Eagle Mountain Golf Course in Arizona, I came across this dead Saguaro cactus and was speechless walking up to the tee box. It never occured to me that a Saguaro cactus leaves basically a full skeleton behind.

This was an easy hole to remember because the enviroment and I hit an ok drive about 280 yards straight out. Then my second shot from about 230 yards uphill I hit a Heavenwood 2 (equals a 5 wood), landed right on the green. Left with about a 10 yard putt for an eagle. Ended up that I missed it by inches and tapped it in for a very easy birdie.

I still say that second shot was because of this cactus, it made me focus and help bring out the best in my game.
