Huntingbeach's Meadowlark Golf Club is a nice course with good conditions, but their customer service left much to be desired. If you were to compare it to other local public courses in Orange County like Costa Mesa or Rancho San Joaquin, it is a better choice. Meadowlark is quite challenging, for the average palyer.

At Meadowalrk they noramlly have 3 sets of tees, Blue, White, Green/Grey. The Blues are the back, and the Whites are the forward. The Green/Greys are more forward and not marked. We found the tee boxes in pretty chewed up and there were hundreds of broken tees onthe ground.

1. Good Bends and Ungulations
2. Hazards and off fairway trees are tuff
3. Customer Service leaves much to be desired
4. Shorter course overall
5. Tees boxes in poor condition

 

We found that this public course can either be fairly easy, or pretty hard. Once you take into affect that missing the fairway will leave you very little options but to lay-up back into the fairway. The trees lining the fairways are tuff to get through.

Water, sand, and other hazards are placed just in the right places to gobble up any miss hit balls.

The few bones we had to pick with Meadowlark are the easy and useability of the course it self. Besides just customer service, the course is tuff the navigate through, better signs would help. A few holes leave you looking around trying to find where to go next.

But it wasn't all bad, the conditions besides the tee boxes were good, greens were small and tiered, and the ungulations of each hole are well thought out for fairway and tee box placement.
