Quick putting tip - Gain confidence

Remember: "You drive for show and putt for dough !"

Most golfers have strong points and weak points in their overall game. Some drive better than they chip, and others chip better than they can putt. It's all of our inconsistencies that make just getting a par so hard.

Some of the better scoring players are just better at being consistent at all points, not great, but consistent enough to make up for it.

Get better at putting.

Instead of having to play recovery golf out of the ruff, they are hitting right down the middle of the fairway. They may not even hit as long but straight down the middle everytime. When playing "Scramble" or "Best Ball" you can rely on your team's strengths and hope that one of them is amazing at putting.

First thing is when you are practicing on a putting green only use 1 golf ball. Since in a round you only play one ball, it makes you focus more on one putt at a time.

Putting to the top shelf.

But the main thing about putting is having confidence, it might sound silly but it makes all the difference in the world. So how do you get confidence in putting when you know you aren't any good, since your reading about how to putt better ? ;)

Well to gain confidence you need to know that you are going to make the putt and to do that just start small. "The 2 Foot Rule" will help you feel more comfortable and gain the confidence you need to putt better.

Here is a quick golf tip to help you putt confidently.

Quick free golf putting tip
  • Start 2 feet away from the pin and don't move further until you make 10 in a row.
  • Then move back another 2 feet away from the pin; make your ten in a row and move another 2 feet away.

Pretty soon you are making 10 putts in a row from 20 feet away from the pin !

You can practice all you want, but if the green isn't maintained your going to have trouble dodging divots. Making a putt is hard enough, let alone your ball is bouncing around because people don't fix their divots.

Do most golfers know the correct way to fix a divot ? Truth is No… most golfers have it backwards !
