Utah mountain views Salt Lake Utah sun set

The State of Utah has amazing public golf courses to be played, offering some of the best scenic views in the country. Overall when comparing to courses nationwide they are also much more affordable greens fees.

The most popular area of Utah for golfing has to be the Salt Lake City area. From the time you land you are only about 10 minutes from some great courses and close to 20 courses in about 30 minutes.

Keep in mind that the sun sets later in Utah and that can give you extra time for an extra 9 holes or assuring you time to finish 18. This will also allow you to set a later time tee, but make sure to check your weather and also to see what time the sun will set. Even if you land at 4pm, certain times of year you can still fit in 18 holes at an easy pace. Like the pictures above ? Download them as a free desktop wallpapers.

South Mountain Golf Course flag

South Mountain is one our favorite courses in tha Salt Lake City area. The level of play is higher but any level of golfer can enjoy a day at outh Mountain.

Amazing views of snow capped mountains, and cliff side real estate. Tuff narrow fairways, and steap up and downs make this course quite hard. Keeping the ball in the fairway is not as easy as you might think here.

Thanksgiving Point has to be one of the most famous public courses in the Salt Lake City area.

From the way you are greeted at bag drop to when you finish the 18th, the customer service is of the highest quality. If you are looking for a longer course, this is perfect for you. The "Balck Tees" are over 7,700 yards, which is even longer than Los Serranos "Jack's Black".

We were very surprised with the views and over lay out of this course. With the huge drop off of over 170 feet at the first tee box, to the difficult water hazards at the 10th green, you can see why we gave this "5 Stars" for the greens fee in our review.

You can loose a lot of balls on this course, either in the water, or right off the side of the mountain. Many holes are situated right on the mountain side so you have limited room for errors.
